Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• NIHSS training can be obtained through various organizations and learning systems that offer courses from the American Heart Association.
• Recent experience in CVICU with two years of experience.
• The RN has a responsibility to act as an educator to their peers, patients, and their families.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process and theories, and principles of psycho-social and physical sciences to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate, and modify patient care using evidence-based practices.
• Practice autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights.
• Strive for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Ensure practice is in accordance with competency required for that area.
• Be accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under supervision, participating in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide care in a collaborative manner with other disciplines, taking a leadership role coordinating the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
