Job summary

Novant Health in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CVICU to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill cardiovascular patients. This role requires meticulous assessments and coordination with the cardiovascular team.

You’ll manage complex therapies, assist with procedures, and educate patients and families, with a focus on safety and evidence-based practice in a fast-paced, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and active RN licensure in NC.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• If RN license has been inactive for five years or more, a Board-approved refresher is required before reactivating or reinstating licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
• Perform detailed assessments and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
• Manage cardiovascular therapies including mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, arterial and central lines, and continuous infusions.
• Care for patients before and after cardiovascular procedures and surgeries.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate plans of care.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency and critical care interventions.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout their critical care experience.
• Promote a safe environment while following evidence-based practices and hospital policies.
