Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Thoracic Intensive Care Unit in New Brunswick, NJ. You will work a night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.), 36 hours per week, and rotate weekends/holidays, delivering high-acuity patient care in a 24-bed CVICU.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, safe medication administration, and interprofessional collaboration to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• 1 year RN experience in Critical Care or 2 years Telemetry/Step Down.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and detect clinical changes early.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on, evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for coordinated decision-making.
• Educate patients and families to prepare for the next phase of care.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure safety and continuity.
