Job summary

Banner Health's CVICU at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join a 16-bed CVICU. You will work with nurses on complex cardiothoracic cases, including post-operative care for open heart and thoracic surgery patients, while delivering compassionate patient support.

This full-time day shift offers excellent teamwork, ongoing training, and exposure to state-of-the-art cardiovascular care in a leading academic medical center setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current CNA/LNA license.
• 1 year hospital experience or medical clerical work preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other data per policy.
• Report changes to licensed staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with procedures and prepare supplies under supervision.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and file chart forms.
• Manage supplies and monitor equipment availability and use.
• Transport patients post-operatively and assist in OR turnover.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
