Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for the CVICU at CUH and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. The role features a rotating 12-hour schedule with extra pay for nights and weekends.

Ideal candidates have acute care experience, board certification as an APP, and Texas licensure with prescriptive authority. The position emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and professional growth opportunities within a renowned academic health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or equivalent nursing advanced practice education.
• Licensed/credentialed for acute care practice in Texas with prescriptive authority as appropriate.
• Current ACLS certification and ongoing commitment to critical care standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing physical assessments in CVICU.
• Develop and modify patient care plans using evidence-based practice.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests as needed.
• Provide patient and family education and coordinated care planning.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, cardiothoracic teams, and ICU staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols.
