Job summary

Lutheran Health Network CVICU in Fort Wayne is seeking a registered nurse for a full-time night shift (5p-5a), 0.9 FTE. Care includes ICU and progressive post-cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients, with ECMO/LVAD support and complex devices.

The RN administers medications, monitors devices, participates in life-saving interventions, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure required.
• BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care following nursing process and policies.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments, documents findings, and reports changes to the team.
• Administers prescribed meds and monitors for side effects; documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Collaborates with the care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities as appropriate.
• Documents care and education thoroughly in the medical record.
• Engages in performance improvement and clinical competency activities.
