Job summary

CoorsTek in Worcester, MA, is seeking a CVD Technician to set up and operate CVD furnaces. You will work with hazardous chemicals, perform maintenance, and run various machining tasks related to graphite and silicon carbide processing.

The role requires 1–2 years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to train on a day shift. Swing shifts are 3:00pm–1:00am or 5:00pm–3:00am with 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Understanding reactor startup and shutdown procedures.
• Knowledge of temperature, pressure, gas flow, and electrical concepts.
• Ability to read and log process data accurately.
• Familiarity with graphite processing and loading materials.
• Following written standard operating procedures.
• Experience with safe handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload CVD furnaces without supervision.
• Tear out and re-line CVD furnaces without supervision.
• Provide limited furnace maintenance (insulation, heating elements).
• Monitor and adjust furnaces during coating.
• Operate or shut down furnaces during emergencies.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment (oil/filters/valves).
• Operate equipment for grinding graphite and/or silicon carbide.
• Inspect job orders for quantity, specs, and instructions.
• Safely operate forklift to transport hazardous chemicals.
• Install/uninstall hazardous chemicals into tanks.
• Troubleshoot quality concerns and identify root causes.
• Wear required PPE at all times in designated areas.

Develops and uses hazardous chemicals, related to product and equipment.
