Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer to maintain world-class process/equipment and drive yield enhancement. The role focuses on identifying complex problems and implementing solutions to sustain superior manufacturing performance.

The engineer will monitor equipment, qualify new tools, analyze data to guide processing decisions, and lead process changes in a 24x7 FAB environment. Base salary ranges reflect extensive responsibilities and site-specific factors.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant engineering/physical sciences.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent.
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Ability to work in 24x7 FAB environment and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Monitors wafer fabrication equipment and responds to issues.
• Qualifies new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinates scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
• Uses data analysis software to identify trends and inform processing decisions.
• Makes parameter adjustments and monitors process parameters after maintenance.
• Executes in-line changes (CPM) to processes or equipment.
• Communicates technical information within the department via presentations.
• Revises SOPs and develops improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitors operations costs and develops cost-reduction projects.
