Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Sierra Campus in El Paso, TX is seeking a full-time monitor tech to support our cardiac services. You will perform hemodynamic monitoring procedures and assist physicians during procedures, while coordinating with nursing staff on emergencies.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, sterilization prep, and stepping in as monitor tech as needed. A high school diploma is required and formal cardiovascular tech training or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Formal cardiovascular technology training preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• 1 year health care or cardiac cath lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures as needed.
• Assists physician during all procedures.
• Assists nursing staff with emergency procedures.
• Maintains and quality controls equipment.
• Cleans and packages instruments for sterilization.
• Assumes monitor tech responsibilities when required.

Job description

Full Time, Rotate

Performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature as well as assists the physician during all procedures. Works with patients from adolescents to geriatrics. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Assists nursing personnel with emergency procedures. Assumes responsibility for maintenance and quality control of equipment. Cleans and packages instruments/supplies for sterilization. Assumes role of monitor tech as needed.

Education

Required: High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred: Formal cardiovascular technology training.

Experience

Preferred: 1 year health care or cardiac cath lab experience.

Certifications

Required: AHA BLS.
