Description:
*Cardiac and Vascular Sonographer (Dual Registry)*
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs both cardiac and vascular ultrasound testing to include 2D echo/Doppler, dobutamine stress, exercise stress, and multiple vascular procedures including carotids, arterials, venous duplex, aorta, and renal artery duplex, as well as other related duties assigned by manager, supervisor or lead sonographer. Qualified individual is able to provide cardiac and vascular ultrasound to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population and provide all necessary documentation and preliminary interpretation of results.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of registry approved ultrasound course or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography (ICAEL) and Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of experience in each modality.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Must be credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in at least one modality at time of hire and become registered in second modality within 12 months of hire date.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess current status in registry and maintain own continuing education requirements of credentialing entity as well as those of ICAEL and ICAVL. Three years in existing credentialed specialty.
