Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical training.
  • Minimum of two registries in Adult Cardiac Sonography and Vascular Technology by ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various diagnostic cardiology and peripheral vascular exams.
  • Corroborate clinical history and assess patients for appropriateness of ordered procedures.

Overview

Responsibilities

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus and $10,000 Loan Forgiveness available for external candidates

  • Performs various diagnostic cardiology and/or peripheral vascular exams including but not limited to:
  1. Vascular Imaging
  2. Carotid duplex
  3. Peripheral arterial duplex
  4. Ankle/brachial indices
  5. Segmental pressures
  • Peripheral venous duplex
  1. Cerebrovascular duplex
  • Cardiac Imaging
  1. Echocardiography
  2. Exercise stress echo
  3. Chemical stress echo
  4. Transesophageal echo
  • Noninvasive Cardiac Testing
  1. Electrocardiograms (ECG)
  2. Holter/Event monitor applications
  3. Non-imaging stress testing
  • Corroborates clinical history and assesses patient for appropriateness of ordered procedure.
  • Provides patient education, applies patient relations skills, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Assumes responsibility for equipment, reporting malfunctions and difficulties.
  • Completes mandatory education requirements quarterly.
  • Participates in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education.
  • Performs activities that enhance customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Accreditation activities.
  • Follows safety, security, and infection control programs.
  • Responds within 30 minutes when on-call.
  • May require light travel or floating to other CHI Health facilities.
  • Maintains a positive work environment and participates in problem-solving.
  • Other duties as assigned by department leader.
  • Qualifications

    Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical training.

    Licenses & Certifications:

    • Minimum of two registries in Adult Cardiac Sonography (RDCS-AE) and Vascular Technology (RVT) by ARDMS.
    • AHA BLS certification.
    • Current associates with CCI or ARRT ultrasound registry prior to 01/01/2019 are exempt from ARDMS registry; subsequent registries through ARDMS are required.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Familiar with standard cardiac and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound views, equipment, and controls.
    • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
    • Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
    • Effective communication with team members, physicians, patients, and staff.
    • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Motivated, quality-focused, team-oriented, professional, and ethical.
    • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and transport diagnostic gear.
    Pay Range

    $32.72 - $47.45 /hour
