- Full Time Opportunity
- Performs diagnostic cardiology and peripheral vascular exams including Vascular Imaging, Cardiac Imaging, and Noninvasive Cardiac Testing.
- Corroborates clinical history and assesses patient appropriateness for procedures.
- Provides patient education, maintains confidentiality, and applies patient relations skills.
- Assumes responsibility for equipment, reporting malfunctions and difficulties.
- Completes quarterly mandatory education requirements.
- Engages in personal and professional development through meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education.
- Participates in activities that enhance customer satisfaction and financial performance.
- Involves in Quality Improvement and Accreditation activities.
- Follows safety, security, and infection control protocols.
- Responds within 30 minutes when on-call.
- May require travel or floating to other facilities for staffing support.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and departmental problem-solving.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent training.
Licenses and Requirements
- Minimum of two registries in: Adult Cardiac Sonography (RDCS-AE) - ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - CCI, and Vascular Technology (RVT) - ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - CCI.
- Graduates from dual cardiac and vascular ultrasound programs must obtain both registries within 12 months.
- AHA BLS certification within 30 days of start date.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with cardiac and peripheral vascular ultrasound views, equipment, and controls.
- Understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
- Effective communication skills with team, physicians, patients, and staff.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Motivated, professional, and team-oriented with integrity.
- Ability to operate ultrasound and diagnostic equipment, including transportation of gear.
