Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego seeks an experienced EP Lab professional to join the Interventional Cath Lab team. The role involves scrubbing and monitoring complex procedures in a fast-paced setting, with weekend and on-call shifts expected.

New hire incentive available up to $2,000 for qualified candidates. Minimum 3 years in EP or Interventional Cath Lab, and current BLS is required; ACLS and cardiovascular tech certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EP Lab and/or Interventional Cath Lab.
• Ability to scrub and monitor advanced specialty procedures in an EP or Interventional Cath Lab.
• Demonstrates advanced proficiency and technical competence in scrubbing and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and scrub advanced EP or Interventional Cath Lab procedures.
• Assist in crisis or high-stress situations while prioritizing tasks.
• Support daily operations in the EP Lab to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest.

Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

New Hire Incentive available up to $2,000 for those who qualify. This is a full-time position (64 hours per pay period) with 8-hour varied day shifts. The position requires availability to work weekends and participate in the on-call rotation. The role is based at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego in Hillcrest.

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EP Lab and/or Interventional Cath Lab required
• Ability to monitor or scrub advanced specialty procedures in an EP or Interventional Cath Lab
• Demonstrates advanced proficiency and technical competence in:
• Scrubbing and/or hemodynamic monitoring of advanced specialty procedures
• Teaching others these roles and procedures (e.g., TAVR, Mitral Clip, Lariat, Watchman, complex peripheral procedures)
• Capable of managing and prioritizing tasks during crises or high-stress situations
• Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Current ACLS from American Heart Association
• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (or Military program equivalent)
• Current RCIS and/or RCES certification Preferred Education/Course(s)/Training:Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (or Military program equivalent).Current RCIS and /or RCES certification.

Position Pay Range: $51.66-$74.92/hour
