Job summary

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc in Illinois is seeking a Cut To Length Operator to support daily CTL machine operations and part processing. You will set up the CTL equipment and may assist with CNC setup, while ensuring parts meet quality specs through inspection and calibration.

Starting wage is $29.25 per hour under our union contract. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K with company match, paid vacation and holidays, disability coverage, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a CTL machine operator
• Ability to navigate a computer to enter and retrieve information
• Must pass a skills-based assessment on reading, math, inspection & measurement
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program

Responsibilities

• Inspect feedstock to meet quality specs
• Calibrate measuring equipment daily
• Inspect parts for quality specifications
• Perform basic machine maintenance and assist techs
• Train others on machines or cells as required
• Pull and stage feedstock for production orders
• Other duties as assigned or changed
