Job summary

Ryerson in Elgin, IL is seeking a skilled Cut To Length (CTL) Operator to run daily CTL operations, set up machines, and assist with CNC machine setup as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of CTL experience, can navigate a computer, and will enroll in a registered apprenticeship program. Starting wage is $29.25 per hour under the union contract, with benefits including medical, 401K, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Cut to Length machine operator preferred.
• Ability to navigate on a computer to find information, enter information when prompted, and print as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Feedstock material inspection to ensure quality specifications.
• Calibration of measuring equipment and daily checks.
• Part inspection to ensure quality specifications.
• Basic machine maintenance and assisting with breakdowns.
• Train others on machines or work cell as required.
• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders.
