Under the supervision of the department supervisor, the Cut-Off Operator (60 Code) cuts sprues, risers and gates from castings; cuts bar stock and revert metal to length; trims castings as required; uses abrasive cutoff machines; sets up and adjusts holding fixtures; receives instructions and assignments from the foreperson.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least one year manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures. Ability to communicate production information both in writing and verbally. Ability to complete required production reports.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Regular attendance and the ability to work weekday and weekend overtime.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and/or hear.
