Job description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of safety and follows all local safety guidelines
• Act as a helper and back‑up operator to the saw operator
• Cut extrusions to required length per customer requirements and stack them onto age carts
• Record accurate counts of material cut and ensure all material is properly identified and dimensionally correct before transferring to the tempering department
• Measure the length of the part on each age cart (first, middle, last) and record dimensions on the Daily Saw Report (QC-50)
• Monitor machine fluid level
• Ensure quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation
• Report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management
• Maintain cleanliness of own work area and overall housekeeping of the company
• Actively participate in all established company health and safety training programs and comply with all policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience

• High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED)
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Physical Demands

Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow is intermittent with intermittent checking. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Work Environment

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud. The employee is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes.
