Job summary

DP World in the Atlanta, GA area is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and compliance-driven Customs Specialist who’s ready to support our customs processes and ensure the seamless movement of goods across borders every day.

You’ll be the backbone of our customs operations—maintaining documentation accuracy, coordinating import/export requirements, and monitoring compliance standards to keep goods moving efficiently and on time.

Qualifications

• University degree required.
• Experience drafting electronic transport declarations for import/export.
• Thorough knowledge of origin/value provisions, customs laws and export documents (CvO, EUR1, ATR).
• Flexible regarding shift work (evenings and weekends occasionally).
• Able to problem solve under stressful situations.
• Customer-oriented, quality-conscious and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Draft and check customs, trade, and transport documents for processing.
• Prepare and handle transport declarations (T1/T2) and export/import documents.
• Manage day-to-day customs activities including risk determination and internal recording.
• Coordinate tariff classifications, tax, and VGEM for international and national matters.
• Communicate with customs/tax authorities, transporters, and customers about procedures.
• Draft and supervise export documents with the appropriate organizations.
• Keep up to date on changes in customs and tax legislation while reporting issues to the Customs Supervisor.
• Advise internal departments and management on customs information.
• Other duties as assigned.
