Job summary

INTER-ORIENT SERVICES is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer in California. The role targets candidates with 3–5 years in a Customs Brokerage or freight forwarding environment, capable of handling cargo classification, filings, and compliance with U.S. Customs and related agencies.

You will work with a team to ensure shipments are cleared, invoiced, and arranged for delivery, while maintaining accuracy and deadlines in a dynamic logistics setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years or more experience in a customs broker or freight forwarder environment.
• Knowledge of industry topics: sales, FDA regulations, freight, EDI, contracts, NVOCC, logistics, pricing, CRM, and transportation.
• Experience classifying cargo from commercial documents and referencing cargo with U.S. Customs.
• Currently aware of the General Rules of Interpretation, HTSUS, and binding rulings.
• Broker license is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Clear shipments and file entries for importers with U.S. Customs and other agencies.
• Handle cargo classification, billing and delivery orders.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations where applicable.
• Coordinate with team and other departments to clear shipments, invoice, and arrange delivery.
• Track and trace shipments with carriers and freight forwarders; provide US Customs updates.

Inter-Orient Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Customs Entry Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a Customs Brokerage for 3-5 years.

Duties

• Clear shipments & filing entry for importers and work with U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
• Handle classification, billing & delivery orders.
• Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and follows FDA regulations (if applicable).
• Working with other members of the team and other depts to ensure shipments are cleared, invoiced and arranged for delivery.
• Tracking and tracing of shipments with carriers, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipment.
• Provide customers with US Customs updates.
• Assist in other work-related responsibilities as required by the company
