Staffmark Group in Edison, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our growing logistics operation. You will manage import entries, ensure regulatory compliance, and support customer accounts to move goods smoothly across borders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, supply chain, customs brokerage, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of import documentation, customs entry processing, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Process import entries and documentation through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal.
• Process ACH duty payments accurately and efficiently.
• Manage and respond to CF28 and CF29 requests for information.
• Review, analyze, and validate import documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and PGA requirements.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with Customs regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues quickly.
• Serve as the primary customs contact for assigned customer accounts.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and drive issues through resolution.
• Maintain and manage customer SOPs and HTS databases.
• Ensure compliance with CBP requirements and customer-specific import procedures.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with customers by providing customs brokerage expertise and guidance.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of customs brokerage processes, best practices, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a high level of accuracy, service, and on-time performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

As a Customs Entry Writer, you will serve as a trusted resource for both customers and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and import requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process import entries and documentation through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal.
• Process ACH duty payments accurately and efficiently.
• Manage and respond to CF28 and CF29 requests for information.

• Maintain accurate records in accordance with Customs regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues quickly.
• Serve as the primary customs contact for assigned customer accounts.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and drive issues through resolution.
• Maintain and manage customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) databases.
• Ensure compliance with CBP requirements and customer-specific import procedures.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with customers by providing customs brokerage expertise and guidance.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of customs brokerage processes, best practices, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a high level of accuracy, service, and on-time performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
