Job summary

Gebrüder Weiss is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to prepare and process import documentation in compliance with U.S. Customs requirements. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare entries for air, ocean, and ground shipments, classify goods under HTS, review documents, communicate with customers and agencies, and maintain records. Weekend flexibility and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, classification, and import entry procedures.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs entries for air, ocean, and ground shipments in compliance with CBP regulations.
• Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accurate duty and tax assessments.
• Review commercial documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading, for accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, and government agencies to resolve documentation and import compliance issues.
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance, release, and delivery.
• Maintain accurate entry records and correspondence in accordance with CBP audit requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient import operations.
• Stay informed of changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance requirements.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
