Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Customs Entry Specialist to manage end‑to‑end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts. You will partner with customers, carriers, and government agencies to ensure compliant, timely imports and strong customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include preparing U.S. Customs entries, filing PGA documentation, and coordinating with forwarders to achieve timely release.

Qualifications

  • 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
  • At least 2 years in CHB or operational support environment preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team‑focused mindset with ownership and accountability.
  • Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers.
  • Serve as the trusted contact for customers with shipment updates.
  • Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings with compliance.
  • Open and manage entry files aligned to KPIs and service standards.
  • Coordinate clearance with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure timely release.
  • Track inbound shipments from port to final delivery.
  • Ensure all documentation is uploaded to operating systems and generate required reports.
  • Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed.
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross‑functional partners for coverage and peak volumes.

Role Overview

As a Customs Entry Specialist, you play a critical role in ensuring our customers’ imports move smoothly, compliantly, and on time. You will manage end‑to‑end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, partnering closely with customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams.

What You’ll Do

You will take ownership of daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers, including:

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely, accurate shipment updates
  • Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and Partner Government Agency (PGA) filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance
  • Open and manage entry files in alignment with defined KPIs and service standards
  • Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and container freight stations (CFS) to ensure timely release
  • Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery
  • Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are accurately uploaded into operating systems
  • Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports
  • Maintain and update customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed
  • Collaborate closely with teammates and cross‑functional partners to support coverage, cross‑training, and peak‑volume needs

Required / Preferred Qualifications
  • 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience

Pay Range: $56,000.00 - $60,000.00

*The stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary and may be adjusted based on market conditions, experience, and location. Final compensation will be discussed directly with the selected candidate(s) in compliance with all applicable laws.
