Job summary

Lynden Logistics is seeking a Customs Broker in Atlanta, GA to manage all phases of customs clearance and support our International Operations team. This safety-sensitive role ensures compliance, accurate classification, and timely communication with CBP and clients.

The ideal candidate holds a U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB), with experience in import regulations, HTSUS codes, and freight coordination. A strong billing and reporting mindset is needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB).
• High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of progressive import experience.
• Ability to sit for TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations and HTSUS classification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations under 19 CFR 163 and company guidelines.
• Classify and declare entries using the correct HTSUS codes, including those with trade remedies and AD/CVD requirements.
• Communicate with clients, CBP, and PGAs regarding entry matters.
• Provide timely regulatory advice on duty rates, trade remedies, and exemptions.
• Coordinate import transportation from port of entry to destination with Lynden teams.
• Generate reports from customs applications and ACE.
• Approve invoices and ensure timely client payments.

Lynden Logistics is looking for a Customs Broker to support our International Operations teamin Atlanta, GA. As our Customs Broker,you'llhelp manageall aspects of customs clearance from beginning to endto support our mission of delivering reliablelogisticssolutionsand connecting communitiesacross the globe. This is asafety sensitive position.

Pay Range:
$35–$48 per hour

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations under 19 CFR 163 and company guidelines.
• Classify and declare entries using the correct HTSUS codes, including those associated with trade remedies and AD/CVD requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs)regardingentry matters.
• Providetimelyandaccurateregulatory advice, including duty rates, trade remedies, and exemption guidance.
• Coordinate transportation of imported goods from the port of entry to theirfinal destinationwith Lynden operations teams.
• Generate reports from customs applications and ACE.
• Approve invoices for payment and ensure clients pay Lynden's invoices in a timely manner.

To succeed in this role, you'll need these skills:

• Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and HTSUS classification.
• Previousexperience with freight management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to managetime-sensitivepriorities and workacross multipleinformationsystems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and other Windows-based applications.

And these qualifications:

• Must hold a current U.S. Customs Broker License(LCB)
• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of progressive experience in U.S. importing functions; a related four-year degree may substitute for aportionof the experience requirement.
• Ability topossessand maintain a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform standard office-based duties.

Extra credit if you have:

• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Master Customs Specialist (MCS) designation.
• Accounting or finance background with experience reviewing invoices, billing, and financial processes.
• Previousleadership experience, including mentoring, training, or leading teams.
