Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Sound judgment/decision-making skills
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor, team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all customer interactions and thanking customers for their business
• Greet customers genuinely and assist them by escorting to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and helping retrieve out-of-reach items
• Anticipate customer needs; communicate effectively and respond promptly to questions and issues to strengthen loyalty
• Oversee front-end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit, and labor goals through effective cost control, labor efficiencies, and shrink management; ensure cleanliness and sanitation
• Determine work priorities and task lists to maintain front-end conditions
• Ensure prompt, accurate checkout and adherence to policies and regulations
• Train, monitor, and coach associates on policies and procedures to reduce shrink and waste
• Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager (excluding hiring and discipline)
• Maintain knowledge of checkout transactions, policies, procedures, and bookkeeping tasks
• Operate equipment such as scanners, registers, scales, and approval machines
• Assist with front-end functions including checkout, stocking, bagging, and cleaning
• Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations, report unsafe conditions or illegal activities

Salary Range: $17.50 - $22.61 per hour
