Job summary

The City of Madison is seeking a Parks Program Coordinator to supervise the Customer Services & Community Events staff, coordinate reservations, permits, and fee modifications, and provide administrative support to Parks management. This role requires in-depth program knowledge, independent decision-making, and policy development responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Two years of leadership/supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in parks and recreation administrative operations, including registrations and reservations.
  • Knowledge of policies, recordkeeping, and regulatory requirements; ability to develop SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform division-wide supervisory duties including staff coordination, interviews, payroll, and annual reviews.
  • Supervise customer service staff and ensure effective reservation for shelter, athletic, and events.
  • Administer contracts, permits, and open records workflows; coordinate cross-divisional communication.
  • Develop and implement customer service standards, training, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee Park reservations, revenue deposits, fee schedules, and related policies.
