Location: San Diego, CA - Filling industrial

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Customer Service Supervisor oversees a team of Customer Support Representatives (CSRs) who support all phases of order fulfillment for Airgas customers via phone and electronic channels. The role focuses on building long-term customer relationships and delivering superior service, including sales support, order processing, pricing coordination, problem resolution, and expediting.

The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $80,000.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage daily team functions and productivity, ensuring high customer service levels for orders related to industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as welding and safety supplies.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, fax, or in person, facilitating all order fulfillment activities.
  • Lead and develop a team of at least two associates, providing performance feedback and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of order entry, data research, and customer service processes.
  • Handle data entry for sales, new account setup, and account maintenance, including pricing updates.
  • Address billing, cylinder balances, order status, and delivery inquiries promptly and courteously, with follow-up as necessary.
  • Research product availability and pricing with vendors.
  • Resolve conflicts related to order delivery and manage customer account reviews.
  • Coordinate with sales, branches, and other departments to ensure effective communication and delivery.
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to the customer service team, including onboarding and technical training.
  • Develop performance metrics, monitor results, and report to management.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance team productivity.
  • Foster a positive, communicative, and supportive team environment.
  • Ensure all team members demonstrate Airgas values and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers on process improvements and initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager may substitute.
  • Two to three years of leadership experience in customer service or inside sales.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
