Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Fort Dodge, IA is seeking a part-time cashier to assist customers, answer questions, and process transactions at the register. You will help keep shelves stocked and maintain a welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, restocking merchandise, and ensuring clean, safe, and orderly shop areas while delivering friendly, professional service to customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in customer service in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing and bending.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, floors, trash and general neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
