Description

CHC Solutions, Inc.is currently seeking an experienced Healthcare Customer Service Specialist to join our billing team in our Pittsburgh, PA (Robinson Township) office.

In the Healthcare Customer Service Specialist role, you will do the following:

  • Respond to a high volume of inbound patient calls related to billing inquiries, balances, and payment options.
  • Provide clear and compassionate explanations of charges and insurance payments.
  • Interpret and explain EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and insurance verifications to patients.
  • Set up and manage payment plans based on internal guidelines and patient financial ability.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of missed daily denials; flag claims for AR Representatives when denials are identified.
  • Review and track high-balance patient accounts to assess risk and determine if services should be suspended for non-payment.
  • Collaborate with AR staff and insurance representatives as needed to resolve billing issues.
  • Document all patient interactions and account updates accurately in the billing system.
  • Stay up to date on payer guidelines, denial trends, and changes in billing practices.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards while balancing the need for financial resolution.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate:

Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare customer service.

Skills and abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs, denial management, and patient billing processes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting insurance verifications and coverage details.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations around finances with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record systems preferred.
