Job summary

ChildCareGroup in Dallas, TX is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to deliver high-quality client support for the Child Care Assistance program. You will help families understand services, navigate eligibility, and resolve issues with courtesy and accuracy.

In this full-time role, you will handle calls and walk-in inquiries, document interactions, and collaborate with team members to meet program goals. A customer-service background and proficiency with MS Office are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
  • One or more years in a customer service environment required.
  • Ability to handle large call volumes daily in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong computer skills with Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming calls and facilitates walk-in clients in a calm, professional manner.
  • Researches and assesses client needs, asking questions to understand and recommend options.
  • Determines actions to meet client needs; updates waitlists and records as needed.
  • Provides client service through education and problem solving.
  • Interprets policies and educates clients on program procedures.

Make an Impact as a Customer Service Specialist

You will work within Child Care Assistance a program of ChildCareGroup that manages child care subsidies in support of working parents, and quality initiatives to improve the early education for children throughout Dallas, Jefferson, Harden and Orange counties in Texas. Your role will be to provide high levels of client service, problem resolution, and education to families regarding ChildCareGroup’s services.

Responsibilities
  • Answers incoming calls andfacilitateswalk-inclientsin a calm and professional manner.
  • Researches and assesses client needsasking questions to obtain a clear understanding of client needs to make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Determinesand takesappropriate actionto meet client needs. This can include but is not limited toplacing clients on thechild carewaiting list, mailing out forms and documents,transferring to other providers, requesting attendance cards, updating address and contact information, and providing guidance forlocatingquality childcare.
  • Provides client service through education and offers solutions.
  • Interprets and communicates federal and state policies and procedures to clients in an understandable manner.
  • Educates new clients entering the program.
  • Offers solutions for other related issues clients might be facing –example;if they are not eligible, offer alternatives that they may be able explore.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and will provide back up support to other specialists
  • Assistswith special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;associate’s or bachelor’sdegree preferred; Child Development experience a plus
  • One or more years in a customer service environmentrequired
  • Ability to comfortably handle large call volumes daily and able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Strong computer skills –proficiencyin Outlook mail and calendar, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excelrequired
  • Work in a team environment and be a team player
  • Possesses efficient organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solveutilizingavailable resources
Travel and Compliance Requirements
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Driving record mustcomply withCCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must haveliability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town asrequired
  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment
