The Customer Service Representative Lead is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding Optum Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Providers, services available in Salt Lake County, and Medicaid benefit plans.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees must have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shifts, including Sundays and Saturdays, from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm EST (October - March) and Monday – Friday during the same hours (April – September). Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The schedule and hours will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County for Medicaid eligible consumers
  • Verifying Medicaid eligibility using a computer database
  • Providing additional information such as phone numbers or addresses to callers
  • Completing administrative tasks supporting the Care Coordination team

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows applications
  • Ability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings, with flexibility for occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Financial Health Technology

For residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., and Maryland: The hourly range is $19.47 to $38.08, based on various factors. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
