Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration

Location: Ascension Dell Children's Medical Center, Austin, TX

Shift Hours: Part Time, Monday-Friday 11:00am-3:00pm

As our Customer Service Representative, you’ll help our patients check into the hospital. You’ll be the person they rely on to answer questions during registration, building trust by collecting information accurately and listening with compassion.

To thrive in this job, you’ll need to be a confident multi-tasker who is a quick study with technology and can type and answer phones. You don’t need previous experience in healthcare. Since this is a hospital/lab environment, you will need to be prepared to see illness and injuries. We’ll teach you everything you need to know, making this a perfect starting point to launch your healthcare career. You must also be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire.

Here’s what you can expect working in Patient Registration (Customer Service):

  • Working on computers and answering phones to intake information in a busy environment. You’ll work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins.
  • Helping people who may be very ill or worried. Patients need you to be there for them and listen carefully to ease their anxiety.
  • Fast-paced work environment, often on your feet assisting patients complete their registration. You must work quickly and expect the unexpected.
  • A team you can rely on. We care about your progress toward career goals.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service experience

The base pay range is $16.00 - $22.30 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
