Customer Service Representative (Hiring Event - Multiple Locations)

This virtual hiring event is scheduled for May 28th - 29th, 2025. The Texas Workforce Commission is looking to fill multiple Customer Service Representative II positions at various locations, including Austin, El Paso, Fort Worth, McAllen, and San Antonio.

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) manages Unemployment Benefits and Tax programs in Texas. We support employers and the workforce through various services and programs.

Position Details

We are hiring for 6 Customer Service Representative II roles, responsible for handling employer inquiries related to UI and Tax programs. Positions are based in Austin or other specified centers. Applicants must be Texas residents or willing to relocate and should not require visa sponsorship.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are Texas residents with strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Experience in call centers or government services, computer proficiency, and bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve employer inquiries via calls and online forms.
  • Assist employers in using self-service options on the TWC website.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide accurate information.
  • Escalate issues when necessary and document contacts properly.
  • Research employer issues related to UI claims and benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months of customer service, clerical, or call center experience.
  • Relevant academic credits may count towards experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in call centers or government agencies.
  • Excellent computer skills and communication abilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Additional Information

Work hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and travel.
