Dayton Freight Lines in Greenwood, IN seeks a part-time Customer Service Representative to support the service center and account managers. You will handle freight pickup requests, rate quotes, freight charges, shipment tracing, and appointments, acting as a primary contact point for customers.

The role requires excellent keyboarding, strong communication, and the ability to manage a high volume of phone calls in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service Center Manager and Account Managers as needed.
• Take and relay messages for the Service Center Manager.
• Provide support to Drivers and prepare bills of lading.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and interline companies.
• May assist with payroll, data entry, and freight reports.

Overview

*This is a part-time position

Shift Time: M-F, 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Customer Service Representatives are responsible for assisting Dayton Freight customers with a variety of inquires including freight pickup requests, rate quotes or freight charges, hot shipments, shipment tracing and appointments or special requests.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Center Manager
• Take and deliver messages for the Service Center Manager and Account Managers
• Provide assistance to Drivers
• Prepare bills of lading and delivery receipts
• Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers as well as interline companies

May be asked to assist with:

• Payroll
• Data entry
• Freight reports
• Driver collect reports
• Billing and filling

• Skillful in Microsoft Office Programs
• Excellent keyboarding skills
• Has worked in a fast paced environment and has excellent attention to detail
• Experience with handling a high volume of phone calls
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
