- 100% remote/telework position with a home office within 50 miles of specific locations in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota. In-office positions are also available in Boise, ID.
- Start Date: June 30, 2025
- Pay rate: $18.00 per hour
- Paid Training: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm MST
- Post-training shifts: 9:00am - 6:00pm MST or 9:30am - 6:30pm MST
- No weekends, holidays, or shifts past 7:30pm MST
- 15% shift differential for hours outside 8:00am - 5:00pm MST, Monday - Friday

Energize your career handling customer service calls for MDU Resources Group, Inc., serving approximately 1.1 million customers across eight states through companies like Cascade Natural Gas, Great Plains Gas, Intermountain Gas, and Montana-Dakota Utilities.
Build trusted relationships by educating customers about available programs and services, providing excellent customer service, and managing cases effectively. Handle incoming gas and electric emergencies, ensuring proper actions are taken. Work under general supervision with some decision-making latitude, prioritizing safety at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of call center experience or two years of general customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Knowledge of customer service skills, typically acquired through a two-year degree in business or a related field
Telecommute Requirements
- Must be at least 50 miles from an MDU/Intermountain Gas District Office
- Reliable high-speed internet with minimum 50 Mbps download speed
- Quiet, ergonomic, and distraction-free home workspace
- Ability to work independently and communicate via phone and video
- Compliance with company and federal information security policies
Other Requirements
- Protect networks and data from cyber threats
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorships)
- Possession of a valid driver’s license if required
- Adherence to company dress code and work hours, including emergency coverage
- Compliance with pre-employment screening
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers and generate necessary field activities
- Respond to emergency calls following established procedures
- Research and resolve customer issues using available tools
- Understand and apply collection practices, educate customers on energy programs
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
