- 100% remote/telework position with successful candidate’s home office within 50 miles of specified locations in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota. In-office positions are also available in Boise, ID.
- Start Date: June 30, 2025
- Rate of pay: $18.00 per hour
- Paid Training: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm MST
- Post-training shifts: either 9:00am - 6:00pm MST or 9:30am - 6:30pm MST
- No weekends, holidays, or shifts past 7:30pm MST
- 15% shift differential for hours outside 8:00am - 5:00pm MST

This role involves handling customer service calls for MDU Resources Group, Inc., serving approximately 1.1 million customers across eight states. Responsibilities include building customer relationships, providing excellent service, managing customer accounts, handling emergencies, and maintaining safety as a top priority.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of call center experience or two years of customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
- Knowledge of customer service skills, ideally from a two-year degree in business or related field
Telecommute Requirements
- Must live within 50 miles of an MDU/Intermountain Gas District Office
- Reliable high-speed internet (minimum 50 Mbps download)
- Dedicated, safe, and quiet home workspace
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with professional conduct comparable to in-office standards
Other Requirements
- Protect networks and data from cyber threats
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S., no sponsorships
- Possession of a valid driver's license may be required
- Adherence to dress code and work shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays
- Mandatory 12-month training period before bidding outside the Customer Service Center
- Subject to drug testing and background checks
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone and written correspondence
- Respond to emergency calls following established protocols
- Research and resolve customer issues independently
- Educate customers on energy programs and perform credit checks, deposits, and payment plans
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
