Timberland Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Hoquiam, WA office. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, cash handling, and accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, and inquiries.

Responsibilities include cross-selling bank products, maintaining cash controls, handling vault currency, and assisting customers with account services while meeting regulatory and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of customer service experience.
• Less than 1 year of cash handling experience.
• Must pass entry level teller assessment within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Receive deposits and verify cash and endorsements.
• Examine deposits and determine funds availability per regulations.
• Process withdrawals and identify counterfeit currency.
• Cross-sell bank products and services.
• Refer customers to appropriate department for unresolved issues.
• Balance drawer daily and maintain currency logs.
• Redeem U.S. Savings Bonds and issue money orders/cashier's checks.
• Sell currency from vault within cash limits.
• Close accounts on request and remove dormant accounts.

Customer Service RepresentativeDepartment/Location: Customer Service / TBDEmployee Reports to: Branch Operations Manager / SupervisorFLSA: Hourly; Non-Exempt positionStatus: Full-Time 76-80 HoursRate of Pay: $18.00-22.00 an hourSummary/Objective: Provides exceptional customer service by actively offering Timberland Bank products and services while performing all essential functions and job duties.Essential Job Functions:Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.Process withdrawals.Identify counterfeit currency.Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.Cross-sell bank products and services.Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.Count and roll loose coins.Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks for U.S. Savings Bonds.Accept loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receipts.Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.Ensure teller station is properly supplied.Close accounts when requested.Follow procedures for removing accounts for dormancy.Balance drawer daily.Redeem US.
