Responsibilities

  • Conduct deposits and withdrawals with cash verification and proper ID.
  • Examine checks and determine funds availability per regulations.
  • Open new consumer and business deposit accounts.
  • Open Certificates of Deposit and accept loan/insurance payments.
  • Issue money orders and cashier’s checks; redeem savings bonds.
  • Cross-sell bank products and refer to the proper department.
  • Maintain daily tasks, balance drawer, and comply with policies.

Role Description:

The bank teller position will provide excellent customer service to bank customers by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of customers by referring them to the appropriate departments within the bank.

Primary Accountabilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct checking and savings deposits and withdrawals: verify cash and endorsements and receive proper identification for cash back
  • Examine checks deposited and determine funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete Hold Notices.
  • Opening new consumer and business deposit account
  • Opening Certificates of Deposit
  • Accepting Loan and Insurance Payments
  • Issue Money Orders and Cashier’s Checks
  • Redeem U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Perform Cash Advances
  • Identify Counterfeit Currency
  • Understanding and identifying customers’ needs
  • Answer basic customer inquiries regarding deposit rates, service charges, account history while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy laws
  • Cross-sell bank products and services and referring to proper department
  • Complete daily tasks in a timely manner: balance drawer, Follow all F&M Bank policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Other Accountabilities:
  • Provide extraordinary customer service in every aspect of your duties by listening, caring, showing empathy, and providing positive solutions when dealing with others. Interaction with anyone should leave him/her feeling energized, enthused and happy. Make sure they are satisfied to the point of release.
  • Focus on improving service quality and operational efficiencies.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policy, procedures, laws and regulations. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required and affirm on each performance review that you will comply with regulations. Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations to your manager or compliance officer.

Schedule Requirements

Monday - Friday with Saturday morning rotation
