Client Service Representative (CSR)

At Mid Island Animal Hospital, our Client Service Representatives are much more than receptionists — they're the heart of the hospital. As the first and last point of contact for our clients, CSRs set the tone for the entire visit. Your empathy, professionalism, and communication skills will help create a welcoming, supportive environment for pets and the people who love them.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the warm, welcoming face that greets our clients in person and by phone
- Schedule appointments, confirm visits, and manage client communications
- Provide accurate estimates and invoices, process payments, and manage daily financial closeouts
- Triage phone calls and waiting room concerns with care and efficiency
- Keep our front desk area clean, stocked, and organized
- Support clients through difficult moments with compassion and clarity
- Educate pet owners on wellness plans, products, and hospital policies
- Assist with patient admissions, ensuring accurate records and information
- Coordinate with veterinarians to ensure lab results and records are communicated effectively
What You Bring:
- 1–3 years of experience in veterinary or medical customer service preferred
- Comfortable with phones, scheduling software, and general office equipment (fax, card reader, printer, etc.)
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for handling payments and deposits
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and a willingness to learn more
- Calm and confident triage instincts — you can spot the difference between a true emergency and a routine visit
- Strong communication skills, time management, and a can-do attitude
- Positive energy, patience, and a team-first mindset
- Ability to remain seated and focused for most of the day
