Job summary

Ashley Furniture is seeking a Customer Service Representative to greet customers, handle sales orders, and maintain accurate accounts. You will assist with financing, process payments, and support store operations under supervision.

The role requires reliable attendance, ability to work flexible hours including weekends, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail systems. This is an on-site position at our Downers Grove store.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service, office, and/or administrative experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable Microsoft Office Suite and system transactions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays; rotation for store opening/closing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Front Desk & Customer Service: greet customers warmly and professionally across in-person, phone, and email interactions.
• Sales Order Support: assist with processing sales orders and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
• Customer Account Management: process credit applications and maintain accurate customer records in RMS.
• Cash Handling & Financial Procedures: follow cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions.
• Customer Issue Resolution: address inquiries professionally and escalate complex issues as needed.

Purpose at Ashley:

The Customer Service Representative is the front-line ambassador for Ashley, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences for every customer. This position serves as the first point of contact for customers, providing administrative support to store operations whileassistingwith various office functions. The Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in building customer relationships and supports the operational excellence that drives Ashley's retail success.

What You'll Do

• Front Desk & Customer Service: Greet all customers in a warm, professional mannerrepresentingAshley's brand image. Provide exceptional customer service through all interactions including in-person, phone, and email communications.
• Sales Order Support:Assistwith processing sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all required documentation iscomplete,and proper approvals are obtained beforefinalizingtransactions.
• Customer Account Management:Process customer credit applications,assistwith financing arrangements, andmaintainaccuratecustomer account information in retail management systems.
• Cash Handling & Financial Procedures: Follow established cash handling procedures, process payments accurately, and reconcile transactions according to company policies under Office Manager supervision.
• Customer Issue Resolution:Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating complex issues to Management asappropriate whilefollowing up to ensure resolution.
• Audit & Compliance Assistance: Support Management with operational audits, inventory processes, and compliance checks by gathering required documentation and verifying accuracy of paperwork.
• Reporting & Documentation:Maintainaccuraterecords, prepare routine reports, and ensure all sales and office paperworkisproperly completed and filed according to company standards.
• Team Collaboration:Work cooperatively with sales team, merchandising personnel, and other store associates to ensure seamless customer experience and efficient store operations.
• Technology & Systems:Utilizepoint-of-sale systems, retail management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business tools to perform job duties efficiently and accurately.
• Complete anyadditionaltasks as assigned bymanagement

What You Bring

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledgeable Microsoft Office Suite and system transactions
• 1 year of customer service, office, and/or administrative experience,preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends andholidays; including rotation for store opening and closing responsibilities - various shifts
• Maintain reliableattendance
• Thrive in a teamenvironment

Compensation

This position pays an hourly rate of $16.00-$19.00.
