Job summary

Callanan Industries, Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a Customer Service Representative in Albany, NY to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. You will take and fulfill orders for aggregates and asphalt, input them into our POS, and coordinate delivery with operations and haulers to ensure accurate products and timely service.

The role requires strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work independently, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Energetic and customer friendly in a fast-paced aggregates, asphalt & construction environment.
• Basic computer skills required; MS Office experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Take and fulfill customer orders for aggregates and asphalt including delivery instructions.
• Input orders into point-of-sale system.
• Coordinate deliveries with operations/haulers for best location.
• Contact QC or sales for product substitutions as needed.
• Notify customers of late deliveries or delays; proactively reach out on new projects.
• Keep the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager and sales informed of issues.

Responsibilities

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of Customer Service functions including, but not limited to, the following:

• Take and fulfill customer orders for aggregates and asphalt including product delivery instructions
• Input orders into our point-of-sale system
• Make sure the product that the customer is ordering is correct for that job or project. Contact the QC or sales department if a different product is requested
• Collaborate with operations/haulers to coordinate delivery from the best location
• Call customers in advance of late deliveries or delays in service
• Proactively reach out to customers on new secured projects
• Keep the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager and sales department informed of problems or concerns throughout the day that may require their knowledge or attention
• Communicate directly with the Sales regarding scheduling
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Candidate must be energetic and customer friendly with the ability to work in a fast paced team atmosphere that focuses around the customer in the aggregates, asphalt & construction industry.

• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Dispatchers, Drivers and other employees
• Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company or governmental state rules and regulations.
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
• Occasional regional travel
• Ability to complete and pass pre-employment screenings

Education/Experience

• Aggregate and asphalt experience preferred but will train the right candidate
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel is preferred
• This position offers a rate of $26-$27 hourly
