Job summary

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a friendly and professional Customer Service Receptionist to greet patients and guests at West Lakes in West Des Moines. You’ll be the first point of contact, directing calls, answering inquiries, and supporting front desk operations with a positive, confidential approach.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and Customer Service or front desk experience; practical communication skills and a teamwork mindset are essential to help the clinic deliver exceptional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in customer service or front desk receptionist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, guests and coworkers in a cheerful, professional manner.
• Answer incoming calls and direct them or take messages as needed.
• Assist with clerical projects as time permits.
• Promote a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Monitor front reception areas to ensure a neat, presentable environment.

A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of a Customer Service Receptionist at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

• Greets patients, patients’ families, guests of West Lakes, co-workers, physicians and others in a cheerful, prompt, courteous and professional manner.Utilizing effective listening skills ascertains needs and directs guests appropriately.Seeks assistance as need to assure guest satisfaction in reaching their location.
• Maintains awareness of visitors and guests entering West Lakes.If not approached directly by the visitor or guest, inquires regarding need for assistance appropriately.
• Answers incoming “1-800” and West Lakes “building” telephone lines and directs calls or takes messages appropriately.Seeks assistance as needed.
• Assists with clerical projects as requested or assigned as time permits.
• Promotes a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic both internally and externally.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
• Maintains awareness of front reception areas and notifies appropriate individual(s) to assure a clean, neat and professional presentation of the area(s).
