Job summary

The Iowa Clinic in Des Moines, IA, is seeking CMA/LPN/RN to join our Family Medicine Department at Downtown Clinic. You will provide professional nursing services following standards, perform assessments, take vitals, assist providers, and support patient-centered care during standard clinic hours.

Requirements include Iowa RN/CMA/LPN license, BCLS certification, and State of Iowa Mandated Reporter certification. We offer a strong benefits package and a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ care needs and document findings.
• Take and record vitals; prepare patients for procedures.
• Assist providers with patient triage and care planning.
• Foster a patient-centered approach and spend time listening to patients.

A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of anCMA/LPN/RN in our Family Medicine Departmentat The Iowa Clinic might look like while supporting Dr. Gupta in our Downtown Clinic?

• Arrive at work in the morning – no night shifts here!
• Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am-5pm
• Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures
• Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
• Room patients and take vitals
• Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
• Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
• Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch
• Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
• Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
• Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!

Required Licenses

• Iowa RN license, CMA, or LPN License required.
