Job summary

The Plant Company in Stuarts Draft, VA is seeking a hands-on Customer Service Manager to lead our Inside Sales and Customer Service team. You will coach employees, keep orders moving, and ensure clear communication across Sales, Operations, and customers.

You’ll oversee order entry, invoicing, and account setup, support multiple channels (garden center, grocery, e-commerce, and retailers), and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely service while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in customer service, order management, or related experience.
• Experience leading or supervising a customer service or order-management team.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop team members; organize daily workloads and build reliable coverage through cross-training.
• Work with customers, Sales, and Operations on order processing, questions, changes, and issue resolution.
• Oversee accurate customer account setup, order entry, invoicing, and sales order closeout.
• Support orders across garden center, grocery, contract growing, e-commerce, and Home Depot accounts.
• Support contract-growing order coordination, drop shipments, and related purchase order entry as assigned.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Shipping, Growing, and Purchasing to clarify requirements, communicate changes, and resolve time-sensitive issues.
• Maintain accurate customer and order information in ERP, CRM, and other systems for reliable data.
• Improve procedures and handoffs to strengthen customer service and internal support, using metrics to drive improvements.
• Travel up to 20% to support trade shows.
