Job description

The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors.

You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

1. Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnect the donor upon completion of the process.
4. Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff accordingly.
5. Record incidents, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events during pheresis using Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
6. Link equipment and soft goods used in the process to the donor via PDA.
7. Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic management system as per SOPs.
9. Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
10. Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available.
11. Follow all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety in all actions.
12. Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
14. Bilingual skills may be required based on organizational needs.
15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Your skills and experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Observe equipment operation and communicate with customers.
• Perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, and have manual dexterity.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Be exposed to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens, wearing PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.

Expected pay rate is $16.66/hour.
