Job Description

Summary: Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintains awareness of any reactions from the donor during or after the process and notifies staff accordingly.
5. Uses a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods used in the process to the donor via PDA.
7. Alerts the Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic management system following SOPs.
9. Understands policies related to hyper immune programs, if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available.
11. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
12. Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
14. Bilingual skills may be required.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three months' experience, preferably in a medical or health environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Working Conditions

• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Must see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
• Occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazards and pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime or extended hours as needed.
