The Opportunity
Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.
The Role
- Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
- Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
- Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
- Maintains alertness to any reactions during or after the process and notifies staff as needed.
- Uses PDA to record incidents, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
- Links equipment and soft goods to the donor using PDA.
- Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
- Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system following SOPs.
- Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
- Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available.
- Follows all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
- Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
- Bilingual skills may be required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Skills And Experience
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education/experience.
- Basic math skills required.
Working Conditions
- Ability to follow instructions and guidelines.
- Must be able to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
- Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and manual dexterity required.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Fast-paced environment with interruptions.
- Exposure to chemicals, temperatures, and blood borne pathogens.
- Wearing PPE as required.
- Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
