Job summary

CSL Vifor in Clifton, New Jersey is seeking a dedicated donor pheresis processor to prepare donors, machines and supplies for pheresis procedures. You will monitor the process, respond to alarms, disconnect donors when complete, and maintain a safe, organized work area.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 3 months in a medical setting, basic math, and the ability to follow SOPs, wear PPE, and escalate donor flow issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and equipment data using the PDA during the pheresis process.
• Link equipment and consumables to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Comply with policies related to hyperimmune programs when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors.

You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.

• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process.

• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.

• Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.

• Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.

• Use PDA to link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor.

• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.

• Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Understand the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.

• Maintain clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions.

• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.

• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business.

• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.

• Perform job-related duties as assigned.

• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Will perform basic math calculations

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $18.98/hour - $20.72/hour. Please note this wage range reflects what CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors.
