Job summary

CSL in United States, Washington (Federal Way) is seeking a detail‑oriented center technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

You will monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate documentation using a PDA. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and following safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Will perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, including machine alerts and alarms.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and follow HSE/OSHA policies.

The Role

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
• Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Use PDA to link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Understand the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Will perform basic math calculations

• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures and to blood borne pathogens
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas
• Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $18.98/hour - $26.57/hour. Please note this wage range reflects what CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors.
