Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. in Virginia Beach seeks a Customer Service import Customs Coordinator to manage US Customs duties, monitor manifest submissions for errors, and coordinate amendments and holds with urgency.

You will act as the focal point for US Customs issues, process GO requests, and ensure timely communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and smooth cargo flows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in customs coordination.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Run daily reports to identify customs holds or rejections and handle accordingly
• Run daily reports to identify cargo for General Order and handle accordingly
• Daily monitor CMS203 (Conditions Attend) and process accordingly
• Daily monitor CMS205 (Orphans) and resolve accordingly
• Weekly monitor the invoice portal to ensure timely processing
• Monitor the group mailbox for transmission notifications and change requests and handle each accordingly within SLA
• Keep a running tab of export vessels’ sail dates so export manifest can be submitted within guidelines
• Handle incoming calls both internally and externally

Main Purpose of the Role

The Customer Service import Customs Coordinator will be responsible for all duties associated with US Customs which would include but not limited to monitoring the submission of the customs manifest for errors, assisting with any amendments to the customs manifest, processing any holds or exam request, handling G.O requests and serving as the focal point for any issues pertaining to US Customs.

• Run daily reports to identify any customs holds and or rejections and handle accordingly
• Run daily reports to identify cargo slated for General order and handle accordingly
• Daily monitor data on CMS203 (Conditions Attend) and process accordingly
• Daily monitor CMS205 (Orphans) and resolve accordingly
• Weekly monitor the invoice portal to make sure that all invoices are processed timely.
• Monitor the group mailbox for transmission notifications and change requests and handle each accordingly within stated SLA
• Keep a running tab of all export vessels’ sail dates so that the export manifest can be submitted to US Customs within their guidelines.
• Handle any incoming calls both internally and externally

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 4+ years of related experience and/or; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
