Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a dedicated Bagging Clerk for Fred Meyer in Eugene, OR. You will greet customers, assist with transactions, and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling various tenders, adhering to policies, and staying current with ads and safety guidelines. Part-time or flexible schedules may be available and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum: ability to handle stressful situations
• Minimum: knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Minimum: prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify departments for repairs.
• Create welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced environments and manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and ask for assistance when needed.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
